Frohe Weihnachten!

Sat Dec 19, 2009, 8:56 AM
Yeah, I'm like a week early, but I know most schools just let out for the Holidays, so Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanza, Yule-tide Greetings.
Or nothing if you're a J.W. FFFFFFF

I love learning of other cultures, and I know my watchers are from all over, so I was wondering how you all celebrate this time of year? :3
My family is now in America, but we never really "Became one in the Melting Pot." We sort of live in our own little German World. XD
We don't really celebrate Christmas. (Weihnachten.)
It's not very important, and is more used to go hang with family and friends.
The whole feasting, gift giving, singing, drinking is done of the 24th, during Heiligabend. (Holy Eve)
A lot of drinking and eating, as well as tricking the kids in your family, dressing up like Saint Nikolaus, and ringing bells.
Heh, so tell me how you celebrate!

Feeeeh I was going to ask my Dad to get alterations done to my Drindl for Christmas, but I forgot. 8'C My chest is too big for it now. LOLOL

On Another Note, my Commissions are still open!
Please note me if you're interested.

Art Appreciation Game

Sun Oct 25, 2009, 8:21 PM
I was tagged.

So this is a tagging game, it's the same as the 'Art Appreciation' game. It's been a little over a year since I played this. And since a year is a lot of time for improvement in the art world, I figured now was a good time to bring it around again.

Once Tagged, you choose 3-5 of your fellow Deviant friends to play the game on. You'll go to each of their galleries, and choose 3 of their pieces that you would consider your favorites. Once you have them, post them in your journal, and give a reason under each as to why you like it.
Once you do this, tag 3-5 other people and pass the game along. Get it? Good! Now lets play.

(Still don't get it? Use mine for an example!)

ROGUE:
:iconrogue-ayanami:
So, Rogue is my twin sister. :3
We create a lot of stories together, and pretty much drive each other on a daily basis! The only reason I even draw, and write stories like i do is all thanks to this Bitch here.

1.Modest Vanity
[link]

So, first off... It's amazing she can even color this well on sketch paper, Rogue. Oh My God. D:
Whenever I look at this picture, I see new details I missed before. It's simply amazing. Very much so befitting a Fashionista like Nadel. ;'D
It's hard to decide which part of this piece is my favorite. I absolutely adore his multicolored, 'gayass' wing. XD
Rogue really has a way of finding the right shades, and colors that go together well without looking overboard, and this is a perfect example! He's wearing... what? 8 different colors, and yet they all go together well!
I think my favorite part to this piece has to be his eyes though. They look like Emeralds. I just love Nadel, so precious.~

2. Solitary Beauty
[link]

Yet again, how do you color like this on sketch paper, Rogue? D: LOL
I flippin' love Acedia's expression in this piece. I fuckin' love you, man!
Anyway... I feel as though this piece expresses more than just what meets the eye. You really would have to have read Rogue's -awesome- story, YOMI -Fall for an Eternity- to understand everything about this piece.
First of all, I feel as though the cheerful background behind her represents those who are happy, and free loving around her Yet there is Acedia... sorta just floating along. XD (This makes her expression priceless to me.)
Back to the picture itself... I want her kimono! D:
Autumn colors are just gorgeous on Acedia, and really make her ocean-colored hair pop! I'm not sure if you planned that, but amazing job.~

3. All That I Have.
[link]

Even though this piece, by looking at it, is absolutely adorable... like many of Rogue's pieces/characters/stories there is always an underlying tragedy.
I believe the title itself brings the true meaning of this piece to life.
"All that I have." The woman in this piece, Amorette lost her Husband when Lovette, her daughter was born. She was left with her last true friend. King Gerard Tonnere, however when the children were adolescents, Gerard went missing from his Kingdom, and never returned.
The country was thrown into war, and the children she cared for so much torn from their childhood to Lead a war torn country.
All in all, Amorette is just a tragic woman, and you really feel for the character as she holds on so tightly to the last living loves in her life.

STUDIO-GEMBLEE:
:iconstudio-gemblee:

I've been watching Gem for a little over a year now, and I have to say... all I ever see from her is improvement. Her art is amazingly detailed, and unique.

1.Dyson
[link]

My God woman! D: I so envy how well you draw biceps, and abs. LOL!
Well, first things first, I faukin' love Dyson, he's a bad ass. XD
This picture really does justice to him. I love how you colored his hair in this picture. Did you use colored pencils?
Amazing.~ (Now I want to see you draw Xan! XD)

2.Dante Devil may cry
[link]

OMG I want to steal your gun drawing skills! D:
I love how you colored this piece, from the gun, to his jacket. Everything just looks so crisp, and perfect.
Whenever I think of Dante, I think of how he's a cocky Bastard, but this picture really reminds you he is also an Angsty Bombshell.~ ;3

3 . Peroneous Canvas
[link]

Yet again, can I say I envy your gun drawing skills? D: *dies*
Well this piece just makes me want to whip out a canvas, and start making magic! I love the composition of this piece, and how she's being coiled by the dragon.
Another thing to honor: Most people tend to say they are either good at drawing people, or animals... not usually both.
However, I am always impressed by Gem's art, whether its a person, animal, or mythical creature! lol

DARGON:
:icondargon:

I've watched Dargon almost since I joined dA! I adore his art, and he's a great person. :3
Also, a fellow Hellsing/SDK fan!

1. I want it right NOW
[link]

Everything about this piece is great to me. Placing the characters to the far left gave the attention of the viewers to the girl in this picture. I also adore how well he colored her hair. I envy skills like that! XD
And, well... I'm sure you all know I'm a sucker for bloody men. ;D

2. Chicago by night. COMPLETE
[link]

Okay, what to say about this piece?
The perspective is amazing! D:
I always want to draw pictures like this, but I'm intimidated about placement, and perspective, but he nailed it perfectly. You get a direct straight on view to the characters, and also a bird's eye view on Chicago down below. I also love the cloudy sky. :3

3.V-ZeitGeist Chien Dark
[link]

I just love all the effects to this piece! Even though we have the large glowing spheres of energy around Vladimir, I still feel drawn to his narrow, glowing eye. It's a focal point, and really sets the mood. I also envy how he can draw a night scene! I'm still a novice to night scenes. D:

I Tag whoever wants to do this!
Especially :iconstudio-gemblee: :icondargon: though.

Plug In! Artist recognition.

Sat Oct 24, 2009, 7:21 PM
Hey guys! :3

I just wanted to make this journal to Plug my great Twin Sister, Rogue.
:iconrogue-ayanami:

She makes great art, and her style is actually a lot softer and cuter than mine. XD
I'm hoping my watchers who check out my journal, and who enjoy my art will give her a view. You may fancy her art, and want to watch her as well! :3

She creates a lot of the stories I write with me. (We are Co-Writers together)
So chances are if you like the characters I draw in my gallery, you'll see them in her gallery as well! XD

So if you have the time, please check out her art, it's awesome.

Love,
-Rein

Opinions

I really really want to draw something bloody. :'C
I may have to make a detour from my commissions/trades to belt something like that out.
It'd probably make my work better anyway though, being able to draw something I want to draw. XD

I was wondering, wht do you guys think of the Moderating System?
How bloody does my work have to be for me to put a Warning on it?
I never put warnings on my work, but I don't want to offend people. XD
I guess I was just never sheltered as a kid, so I don't really know boundries, and when to start warning people, blah.~

Like: Does he have to be missing an arm?
Or is a lot of blood too much already?
Hm? Hmmmm?

Anyway... a lot of drama on the internet right now, hm?
If you're causing trouble for any of my watchers, you know who you are, and you really need to stop.
